The results using CrystalDiskMark before and after are:</p><p></p><p>[ATTACH]35014[/ATTACH]</p><p></p><p>Quite a difference, but real mode counts more than a couple of bencmarks so here is a couple of real figures:</p><p></p><p>Windows 8.1 load from blue W8 icon to first Desktop WD sata 54 secs: Evo 840 8 secs</p><p>Skyrim (game ) WD sata sata 62secs Evo 840 26 secs, and saves and cell changes appear to be instant.</p><p></p><p>Best upgrade ever. I have ckecked my profile but specs for this machine is :-</p><p>Gigabyte ga-890gpa-ud3h (6 sata 3 ports), amd 1090T (6core) at 3.4 ghz</p><p>Corsair dominator 8 GB at 1600</p><p>Nvidia gtx460, 2TB wd sata 250GB (buk data backups etc. samsung evo 840 for op system and games</p><p></p><p>Really posted to show users the advantage of swapping to an ssd even use a 120gb drive for your op and </p><p>and putting large files on a standard sata drive to save costs.</p><p>BesB</p></blockquote><p></p>
