I have a Samsung 250 gig. I turned on the Rapid Mode. I didn't see any difference in performance on my PC. The only difference I saw was increase in benchmark scores. I turned it off because of the other things it did to my system. It was using almost 2 Gigs of my memory. It turned on Hibernate, and Indexing service, which I had turned off. It changed my Virtual memory setting and my Power options, all of which I didn't like. The first pic is WD Black 1TD HD that I had original . The second is SSD with out Rapid. The third is SSD With Rapid.

I just finished building a new desktop gaming rig and bought two Samsung 850 Pros. One was 512GB and the other 1TB After using them for a week I decided to return the 1TB for the Samsung 850 EVO. For the $160 I saved I can tell you that my "real world" experience is identical no matter what software or game I run. It's gotten to the point where the only reason to get faster SSD's is for benchmarking and bragging rights. As for RAPID MODE - it's certainly a great selling point and I'm sure people love it - but like you I don't think it's worth all of the settings that are changed within Windows.

By the way your WD Black is running nicely!
