I ran an sfc (system scan) and it generated the following error:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS,log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios."

Here is an excerpt of the kind of fail found in the CBS.log file....

I would attempt a repair with an install disc but I had problems a while back with malware which (amongst other things) prevented me from rolling back to any restore points and which I removed using Malwarebytes (pro version). Since then I tried to do a repair with a Windows 8 install CD after there were still some slight issues, but was unable to do so.

Any suggestions anyone please?

Thanks
