Self-made Windows 8 Wallpapers

Made this a while ago, I don't usually like bright desktops so most are quite dark, easy on the eyes that is. I will make a couple more over the next few days.

None of the 'shortcuts' actually work. I've unchecked "Show desktop icons"
I was 'comparing?' the number of Large Icons [on the desktop] vs Tiles [on the Start Screen]
and just did a Print Screen and saved it. I then made it my 'wallpaper'.
The count [without scrolling] with a 1280 x 800 screen resolution was 60 Icons vs 36 Tiles.
Another count was 52. the total Pinned Taskbar items plus the total of 26 Quick Launch items.
This came about becasue of a disccussion I had read about the Start Button limiting one to 20
or so shortcuts. And one of the reasons the Start Button was jettisoned in Metro.
It's very hard to understand, but it all works out. It doesn't matter much to me.

So, the final results, without scrolling and at default size, for my noted resolution was as follows...
Desktop Large Icons 60
Metro Start Screen 36
Taskbar Quick Launch Combo 52
Start Button 20
And the winner is....Desktop.
Why does the winner 'look' like such a looser???

That's all for now

I see some very creative people here.

Well I tried something simple in GIMP.

These two can be used together as a slideshow (gives nice fade-out effect): there are each other's counterpart

But this one made me dizzy  so don't stare at it for too long unless you have a pair of spare-eyes. :D I don't know who will like this one...
