Solved security updates

tried to download several and the first thing one of them tried to do was download windows 10, and several updates said I needed to first download a security advisory 2919355. but I can't find much about this and don't know if it's another sneaky way for Microsoft to try to download OS 10.

now I did find the windows 10 repair tool, to disable windows update in windows 7 and 8.1, going to use that in the next hour or so. but isn't there software to block Microsoft from intentionally downloading windows 10 without the PC owners consent?

That update is the spring update, and is needed to install most newer updates. It isn't a W10 related update at all.

There is, you could just change your update settings to check but let me download, and uncheck give me recommended the same as important,



Those are my settings and I install just about all updates, no skype or bing though.

I haven't had anything attempt to download or install.

There's nothing wrong with KB2919355, at least in relation to Windows 10 being downloaded or installed. I'd install it, as it fixes important security issues and bugs, while having nothing to do with Windows 10. The update to mostly watch out for is KB3035583, while KB2976978 is probably worth removing, as it seems to aid the process.
