Search Online with Bing - Turn On or Off in Windows 8.1

How to Turn On or Off Using Bing with Ads to Search Online in Windows 8.1

information   Information
In Windows 8.1, the Search charm will now provide global search results powered by Bing in a rich, simple-to-read, aggregated view of many content sources (the web, apps, files, SkyDrive, actions you can take) to provide the best “answer” for your query.

However, the Bing Ads platform is now available in Windows 8.1 Smart Search which was released last week in the Windows 8.1. Bing Ads will be an integral part of this new Windows 8.1 Smart Search experience. Now, with a single campaign setup, advertisers can connect with consumers across Bing, Yahoo! and the new Windows Search with highly relevant ads for their search queries. In addition, Bing Ads will include web previews of websites and the latest features like site links, location and call extensions, making it easier for consumers to complete tasks and for advertisers to drive qualified leads.

You can also use this Registry Key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ConnectedSearch]
"ConnectedSearchUseWeb"=dword:00000000

Ofcourse "0" disables Bing, while "1" at then end will enable the Bing search.
You will need to log out and back in, to see the actual slider set correctly at the Settings Menu.

Grtz,

BM.

Thank you BM for the addition, and welcome to Eight Forums. :)
