Hi all, I am extremely desperate.
I bought this new HDD two weeks ago for this particular vacation which I saved all camera photos on (due to lack of laptop memory), yesterday, during my last day of the trip, the HDD will not light up ( I hear spinning sound), and cannot be found on My Computer.

Attaching what I see in Disk Management. This HDD is also showing up in Device Manager.
Please help me. I'm in tears.

I am also running Minitool Partition Wizard at the same time but it is showing up as Bad Disk (does this mean no hope??).
It is also very slow, somehow going into Not Responding mode every few seconds.

what is the exact model name of the Seagate 2Tb hard drive?
might be a bad or defective Seagate hard drive if it was purchased at a "cheap" price. time to get another one. also don't buy "used" or "cheap" Seagate 2Tb drives as those are not good quality as I had some bad experiences with older Seagate drives failing prematurely

I suggest you get a blank DVD (DVD+R) and create a Linux Mint install disk. Then boot with the Linux disk in the drive. This will put you in a Linux Live environment. You should now be able to plug in your drive and read the contents of it.

Also, get a big flash drive (big enough to hold all of your pictures), and plug it in after you have booted into Linux Live. You should be able to copy your pics from the hard drive to the flash drive.

Linux is better at reading problematic drives than Windows is.
