script to add/remove drive letter

hi there
i am trying to make a script using diskpart to assign or remove the drive letter of a certain volume
what i want is that the script should check if that volume has/doesn't have a drive letter and do the opposite
for example if i run the script and there is already a drive letter assigned to that volume the script should remove the drive letter and vice versa
if some could please help me out on this or refer articles that could help me out i would be very grateful
