Screen resolutions for photographers

A website for Photoshop plugins is running a poll asking what screen resolutions people are using. It has only just started with less than 100 replies but is still interesting:

screen res.jpg

I'll update it if significantly more people take part. But it shows that for users using photo imaging software, the desktop is king and a majority have large screens, not tablets or laptops. Another poll on the site confirms:

Poll 2: Do you edit photos on a mobile device?
131 people took part in this poll and the results are as follows:

1. No, and I am not interested in doing that in future 54%
2. No, I do not do that, but may do in future 30%
3. Yes, from time to time 11%
4. Yes, I do that often 5%

I mention all this as it is of interest vis a vis the Metro interface for photographers. In short, Metro is irrelevant and I for one am using Win 8 full time and rarely come across Metro.

Thanks to http://www.thepluginsite.com

edit this data is also useful for web developers maybe

This is my second laptop after my old notebook that broke because file system is corrupted and I can't recover it. And my Internet speed is super duper low in other countries. And my income is so low (US$200/month) so I don't have any electronic equipment except this laptop.
I'm no photographer, but I do play around with computers and know what it is to edit a graphics file. 1680x1050 is the minimum for doing anything serious (meaning trying to enjoy the hobby seriously, imho) - I also have various smaller screens throughout the house. I wouldn't use any of them for Photoshopping and I'm not even 1/10000000 as good as a decent PSer.

I was at a graphics person's house in like early 1990s. He was very proud of his dual CRT 27" setup at the time. I think it was 27" - could have been 29 or even more. He said it cost thousands then.

The res of 1366x768 is listed in WXGA specs but seems non-standard. It isn't quite 16:10 nor 16:9 ratio widescreen. Is it a laptop of some sort?

In "other" section. Maybe your screen resolution is there. :) (because your screen res is too large so moved into "other" section )
