screen brightness stuck on brightest setting-what can i d?

Hi
I have an Asus laptop running 8.1
my laptops screen has been working perfectly fine as far as i know. a few weeks ago the laptop itself fell and the hinge-part that connects the physical screen to the physical keyboard came undone, together with the wifi antennae. i got all of that fixed. i think since then, my brightness wont adjust. it stays on the brightest setting, whether i use the Fn key or go to she settings screen manually.

i tried to download an ATK package which was suggested elsewhere, but the comptuer said it cant downlaod it because its already installed.

i tried to search for already existent drivers manually but that did nothing.

Any ideas? is it possible its a hardware issue, or unlikely?

People who fixed the hinge, did they check out rest of Laptop to assure did not cause anymore damage, was it a qualified person, under warranty ? Can be damage to monitor or some other hardware, yes. Make and model of laptop ?

Few more digits after that model number, but do not think really matters. Looking at model, try to completely uninstall those ATK drivers then reinstall them. Drivers control more then screen brightness, does other functions work ?
