Same settings as 7, access denied on 8 wired network.

I have a small wired home network of 2 PC's. Everything worked fine on 7, on 8 I can see and open shared folders/files but cannot modify/delete them. You can see my settings below, common on both PC's. Tried both on/off for "turn on automatic setup...". On the shared folders in the 2nd PC, full read/write access is given to "Everyone" (using same settings that worked on 7). I've tried disabling security software and the router's firewall. Also tried using Homegroup and UAC on/off.

Nothing works.

WOW, you give access to about anyone on the net to your stuff. If you can open and read a share folder and can't delete a files, it's a permissions problem, the firewall on your router as nothing to do so enable it. I don,t know where to start to help you, you change so many setting. First: did you have the exact user name / password on both PC ?

Please try to avoid Image shack, use Photobucket, image shack open a lot of crap when we try too look at your pics

I usually use "Authenticated Users" instead of "Everyone", did that for testing. If you mean if they remained the same after upgrading to Windows 8 then no. I think 8 requires an extra setting (Computer description) which might cause these problems.

With Windows live account I had to authenticate my Homegroup machine names through email process.

Do you have a Windows live account? Did you authenticate the machines in your Homegroup yet?

I've only created a new account (with a current non-Microsoft email) for access to Store etc. and use it on both PC's. How is authentication done? Also, I am not using HomeGroup (I did try it, but had the same problems).

You might want to try setting up a Windows live account as pretty much everything in Windows 8 seems to revolve around that account.

Other than that it sounds like a permission issue.
