Hi, everybody. How do I disable the setting that prevents Windows Live Family Safety from running on Windows 8? The built-in Family Safety program isn't enough for me since I need to apply it to an administrator account. Thanks for your attention.

I've never used it. I would just uninstall it. Go to control panel, uninstall programs, select windows essentials, then a window should pop up and just check what you want to uninstall.

I want to use it, not uninstall it... Are you saying that if I uninstall the built-in Windows 8 program, it will allow the Windows 7 program to run?

Hello NotReallyHere, and welcome Eight Forums.

It appears that Jimbo has just misunderstood what you wanted.

However, even the separate Windows Live Family Safety settings cannot be applied to an administrator account.

Both are only for restricting standard user accounts. :(

Hi,

Before I upgraded to Windows 8, I was able apply Windows Live Family Safety settings to an administrator account. Even if this isn't intended behavior, I'm thinking that disabling the restriction might allow it to work again. Is there a way to do this?
