how could I remove explorer's rotate right / rotate left that appears in submenu when I click on a picture for example, I don't even have nor want thumbnails..
You are more than likely opening that picture with Windows Photo Viewer and the functions you are identifying are inherent to the program and cannot be changed and/or removed.
Already did because I unfortunately deleted all of my attachments when I thought I was doing a maintenance function. Hopefully, they will either be back soon or I will be banned (presumably).
I see nothing on the explorer context menu that matches what you are describing. What I do see is the ability to choose the program you want to use to view the image. How about a screenshot of your issue?
I think the reg ref is related but there are two references protected so I cant even export them & temporarily delete them
to see if rotate disappears from the context menu.
Sorry to necrobump this hella old post, but I'm curious if anyone ever found a way to do this. I often use Right-click -> "T" for a "cut" shortcut, and this "Rotate right" shortcut breaks that.
I have no references to "RotMgr.dll" in my registry.
I just figured out how to get rid of "Rotate right", "Rotate left" & the "Preview" which also has to get disabled for images.
1) Download ShellExView (from nirsoft.net).
2) Scroll down to the Extension Name: Windows Photo Viewer Image Verbs (make sure you select the "Image" option, since there's another one for Video).
3) Right click and Disable Selected Item. Say Yes.
4) Close the program.
5) You must restart the computer to be able to see that these 3 context menus are gone. (If you don't restart the computer, they will stay there when you right click on an image file... until you restart!)
