Unistalled hp connected music, but now I have the icon in start menu. Clicking on it only opens install/uninstall window. How do I remove this orphaned tile?

It's a desktop app not metro. Pin/unpin from task bar, start screen, uninstall and so on. Clicking on uninstall takes you to windows uninstall window, but as I said I have already uninstalled all crapware, only hp connected music left a tile on start screen

That's Metro not Desktop.

Anyway, choose Open File Location & delete it there.

Are you kidding me since when do metro apps open windows uninstall window to be deleted, and besides metro apps only generally have 2 options, pin to start and uninstall, they don't have the pin to taskbar option in windows 8. Look at the screenshot.

No, I'm not kidding.

If whatever is responsible for creating the tile is removed, the tile should disappear.

I've removed programs & its' tile went away.

Do as you wish.I can help no more.

Someone with more knowledge will probably come along & offer better advice. :)

Try pinning it to Start & then unpinning it from start.

You should use "Unlocker" to remove stubborn icons like this - They have it for download at Major Geeks. Some Antivirus programs detect it as a virus, but it's safe.
