Can the admin responsible for the removal of a thread of mine please explain why?

The idea of this forum is to help members who have problems with Win 8, no matter how simple.

I published a solution to a problem we have all had with IE and the software involved. I received a rep thanks for this from a very responsible member and a suggestion as to another similar software.

Why was this deleted? Any by whom? And why wasn't I informed and given a reason?

As a forum owner myself I appreciate that somethings are sometimes not allowed but it wasn't even spam. There are loads of threads in here offering updates, and other links to services, posted by admin, so why not mine??

If you mean your "Windows 8 Tweaks" thread, then I removed it.

It's one thing to post a link to something specific that will help the OP, but it's another when it's just a link to the homepage of another site with nothing specific other than telling them to go there. There wasn't a link to the software download page in the post. That's why it was removed.

We simply just don't have time to inform everyone when we remove a post. When it happens, it's usually because it was a breach of the forum rules.

I do not think it was to specifically tell people to go there - it was a direct link to the download to save the person from having to search for it. And, after a lengthy explanation of how to 'tweak' various examples to improve experience. But your the boss, so whatever.

Sent you a PM with a copy of your post to see that it wasn't lengthy or detailed, and that the link in it was not to any software download page.

If you want to repost with a link to the software page, then that's fine though. :)

Please verify if this is the post you were referring to.
