I have just installed Outlook 2013 and started my mail account. Unfortunately I let Outlook configure my email account automatically and it configured as IMAP and not a POP account so I have an OST instead of a pst

what is the best way to delete the account I created and start again this time configuring the servers manually ?

Thanks

Personally I would leave the account as it is. An IMAP account have the advantage of leaving copies of e-mail on the server. So in the event of system failure all your e-mails are safe.

Are you able to send/receive e-mail ok?

The current email account works for both send and receive. Just that I would prefer a .pst type account vs .ost. I don't need to sync emails etc

I read from various threads that if I want to change to Pop3 account not only must I delete my account in outlook 2013 but I need to delete my old profile using control Panel>mail and add a new profile if not there will still be stuff of the old profile still hanging around .

IMAP account Outlook 2014

I am not able to send or receive consistently. Right now the outlook mail is two days old, yet my phone and a manual login to my ISP shows tones of new emails. IF I delete the account and redo it, ill get that days mail and days before, but the next day, I cant receive or send, yet my iPhone has no issue Im really starting to hate outlook 2013 help please:cry:
