Red earphone icon takes over

Hello,

There is a square red icon with a white earphone image in it that takes over the screen anytime I play an mp3. I'm a working musician and don't find this charming as I must be hear and go over a score, or two (one in my lap even). How can I turn off this takeover please?

Install VLC media player and tell it to be the default app for MP3 files. It should happen after you install it. Or, if you want to open it with something else, you can right click on an MP3 file and right click:



Choose "Change Default Program" and set it to your desired program.

You could just uninstall the music app from the start screen, which will fix the associations for all media types.
