How to Add or Remove Recycle Bin from Favorites in Navigation Pane in Windows

The Recycle Bin provides a safety net when deleting files or folders. When you delete any of these items from your hard disk, Windows places it in the Recycle Bin and the Recycle Bin icon changes from empty to full.
This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Recycle Bin as a link under Favorites in the navigation pane of Explorer for only your user account in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
This tutorial will show you how to add or remove the Recycle Bin as a link under Favorites in the navigation pane of Explorer for only your user account in Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
EXAMPLE: Recycle Bin added to Favorites in Navigation Pane
OPTION ONE
To Add Recycle Bin to Favorites in Navigation Pane
1. If you have not already, turn on the Recycle Bin desktop icon, and do step 2 or 3 below for what you would like to do. (see screenshot below)
2. Open the Recycle Bin being careful not to select anything in the Recycle Bin, right click on Favorites in the navigation pane, click/tap on Add current location to Favorites, and go to step 4 below. (see screenshot below)
OR
3. Open File Explorer (Windows 8/8.1) or Windows Explorer (Vista/Windows 7). Drag the Recycle Bin desktop icon over the Favorites folder in the navigation pane until you see the Create link in Favorites message like below, release to add Recycle Bin, and go to step 4 below.
4. If you like, you can move (drag and drop) the added Recycle Bin link under Favorites to any order you like within the Favorites group. (see screenshot below)
5. If you like, you can now turn off the Recycle Bin desktop icon from step 1 above.
OPTION TWO
To Remove Recycle Bin from Favorites in Navigation Pane
1. Open File Explorer (Windows 8/8.1) or Windows Explorer (Vista/Windows 7).
2. Right click on Recycle Bin under Favorites in the navigation pane, and click/tap on Remove. (see screenshot below)
