The cellphone services in my area that provide Internet service also provide the hotspots that work with their service. They do rent or allow purchasing. The ones I've seen were branded with their name, e.g. Verizon and AT&T.

Thanks for your reply. I know Verizon and ATT have such device to be used in US but I am looking for one to use while traveling in UK or France for about two weeks.

I guess I didn't use the right words to say that you'll most likely need to check either with your cellphone service to see if they offer anything overseas or find a short-terms service to provide it. I've heard some cellphones can be used to provide a hotspot but again, that's up to the cellphone service.

Sorry I tried. My old 3G Android phone gets 2.5-3 Mbps which is enough for me to do what I need when I use it as a hotspot but if you need something faster maybe someone else will respond.
