I have a Sager NP9377 Laptop that has Realtek HD Audio. I have noticed that audio seems really quiet. I usually have Speaker volume at about 28% and it sounds quieter than it should at that level. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thoughts and help appreciated :)

You can add "loudness" equalization in the RealTek HD Audio Manager Panel, if your system has that.

Volume level is very subjective. Someone else may not consider "28" with this exact same model as not being as loud as it should be. (I'm very attuned to audio sound as I have a recording studio).

My Driver/Software doesn't have the "Sound Effects" tab. Can I download a driver that does have that tab and if yes, do you know which one I need and where to get it?

The specs from the Sager site do not specify what the actual sound chip is, but you also have the SoundBlaster audio enhancement which should have something similar to the RealTek HD Audio Manager.

What the site lists:
High Definition audio interface
S/PDIF digital output
1 Built-in Microphone
2 Built-in Onkyo Speakers
1 Built-in Onkyo Sub-woofer
External 7.1CH audio output supported by headphone, microphone, S/PDIF and Line-in jack
Sound Blaster X-FI® MB 3
Amplified Headphone output

However, with what is listed for the spec's I would be contacting Sager to get it worked out.

Sorry to jump onto the thread but I have a similar problem: my audio seems lower now after I updated the driver a few days ago.

I wanted to go into the Realtek Audio Management Panel but can't work out how to do that. Can you tell me which of the files in the screenshot below is the Management panel please (and if none of them, where exactly do I find this?)

Its not on the screen you show. The RealTek HD Audio Manager is located in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound. I have the Start8 installed on my Win 8 system which turns the desktop into a clone of Win 7 and I access it there.

I'm on my Win 7 system right now so I can't say how to access it from the Metro screen.

Thanks to both of you.

I found this under 'Dell Audio' on the start screen, Dell having sneakily renamed it.

Lots of controls to play with here
