Thanks for anyone, who helps me :D
I have "an old fashion motherboard,, with realtek's VT1818S High Definition Audio 8-Channel soundcard build in to the Asus m4a77 motherboard. Usually with W7 windows i had to install the driver from asus's website... so far when i get to the installation point it says:
none of this package's drivers are compatible with your pc
allthough, this time W8 did install the driver but its delivered by microsoft, High Definition Audio device. well... the card works, if i keep the speakers attachde to the front jack. and the stereo mix capturing doesn't work.

Any help?

Try running in compat mode. Steps 1,2,3 of option one should get you there. You may need to ininstall what you have going then run this on the exe that you downloaded from asus.. good luck to you

I have a Realtek sound card (HD) that worked both front and back audio ports worked in Vista, but in both 7 and 8 the front doesn't work. I have attempted to install proprietary drivers in all valid comp. modes with no success, any thoughts

haha PCChips - that was the maker of my motherboard until it blew the caps and I replaced it for 30 U.S.D. to my door with the one in specs.

You have Realtek ALC662 - the latest driver should work well for you - Realtek HD Audio 2.68 audio driver download from Guru3D.com

If you still have the issue, check your bios for any settings that may be affecting it and you can then also check the Realtek Sound Manager and/or other software included in the driver setup.

Here's another resource you might use if you still have to try new things for some reason:

REALTEK - Download driver for your Realtek sound, Realtek network and Realtek wireless or wifi card for Microsoft Windows

----------

I highly do not recommend this, but if you can't sort it out with the above, then you can install the very old one from your motherboard page using the device manager.

If you have bsod issues after doing this, look to it as the culprit.

Funny thing though: Just yesterday, for the heck of it (I don't even use my onboard Realtek, although it is good) - I was reviewing the Realtek codecs' spec reference designs and schematics. I like learning about things.

While I didn't check each and every last one, it seems as though all the Realtek codecs support the case ports by default. Meaning - the latest driver should enable that for you one way or another, even if you have to play with settings here or there as stated above.
