It takes some time yes, as mentioned here it takes some time for the first x to find and install. Even when you do it using a standalone installer.

Some time ago I used a Windows Update standalone Installer to install a specific update with which I had some issues. It had been installed through Windows Update but because of issues I removed it. I reinstalled it using a Windows Update Standalone Installer. It was only a couple of KB's, but it took several hours before it was downloaded and installed.

For the reinstallation, did you use media you already had or did you download the media?

After the updates i restarted my computer and i was getting this message "We couldn't complete the updates.Undoing changes.Don't turn off your computer" and then restart again and again this message and again and again. That happened for about 6 times and then it logged in.At least windows update is working now, i mean it doesn't check endlessly for available updates.Any ideas why it couldn't complete the updates?

I'm curious why the issues keeps occuring, I would like to suggest some tests
Usually I'd do the opposite, first make sure Windows is up to date, but due to the issues it's time to investigate why the BSOD occurs since they are likely related to the Windows Update issues.

Diagnostics Test

HDD TEST

Note   Note
Run the tests on all hard drives/partitions!

Note   Note
Please run HDTune first, in the order posted!

:ar: Run HDTune to

  • check the health,
  • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
  • run a benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following

  • the health,
  • the error scan,
  • the benchmark incl. following
    • transfer rate,
    • access time,
    • burst rate,
    • cpu usage.

:ar: Run SeaTools DOS to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run the long test.
Note   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

:ar: Run chkdsk
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums
Use option TWO with parameter /r
Upload the chkdsk log :ar: Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log - Windows 7 Help Forums

Diagnostic Test

RAM TEST

arrow.png
Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

Note   Note
attachment.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

There are three options for your system tunning. Power saving-Normal-ASUS Optimal ( High performance).I changed it from Normal to ASUS Optimal and i couldn't even log in windows.I was getting instant BSODS everytime until i changed it back to Normal. Then i was getting the BSOD i'm used to get:dinesh:.Then i changed it from Normal to Power Saving and it's pretty stable.I have not get any BSOD since then. Isn't it weird?

Changing power settings affecting your issue is not strange at all, it affects just so much on your system. Changing power settings is like changing the behavior of your system, not figurative meant. While the system works as hard as possible with high performance without changing their behavior, with power saving it adapts to the amount of power left in the battery.
