Solved Random mini-freezes possibily related to CPU?

Just as I suspected, pretty borderline temps for processor, specially laptop. Can also see that power and voltages are fine. You can get one of those bases for laptops with fans, they can drop temps by 10 - 20%, even if heat is not too much of an issue, it will last longer at least. If you suspect dust inside (computers are great dust collectors), some cleaning of the filter at the bottom intake may help. A blast of "canned air" thru exhaust, side grill can do it nicely if you are not heavy smoker.

I already have a Fan for the laptop and its on max speed. However, is there no other way to decrease the temp? Does decreasing the game settings help?
That might help a bit but games are loading GPU more than CPU.

What about settings in power options? 0aff74541368362a1cb130a27ad898f4.png

That used to happen to me when I had an old laptop. It was the GPU becoming really hot and having freezes. Even in regular browsing, sometimes the GPU driver would crash. I recommend installing SpeedFan and checking out your temps.

Zetix what computer laptop do you have?

I also have a 4700 i7 quad core..

mine doesn't play games as well as it should..but i may be seriously expecting too much of out the system..

and i noticed your cooling setting in the advanced power was passive.. I would always have active on.. why turn that to passive?

I seem to be running into faulty game programming.. non-optimized code as they call it.. whenever there is a patch out for specific games all the sudden they run a little better sometimes.. etc.. turn off your antivirus apps and such if you are just playing the minecraft game too.. then turn them back on after..

Hmm, it appears that the issue is not with my temperatures.

and thanks for the info computermessedu, but my temperatures are actually all fine.

To answer your question bassfacer22, i was just changing the battery settings to see if it helps with reducing the freeze. It does help but instead of the whole system freezing, its just the programs themselves that becomes not responding for a few seconds, then responds again.

I think the issue might be with background services but i'm really not sure what the issue is as of now. Every time i think i fixed it, another problem similar appears. I'm extremely frustrated since although these random freezes doesn't crash my computer or anything, it is so annoying opening a browser can freeze everything for a few seconds.

As for my computer, i got the MSI GT60-2OC
i recently just moved my OS to a Kingston 3k HyperX 480GB SSD and i think that's when the problem started.
CPU: i7-4700MQ Processor
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 770M / 3GB GDDR5
Ram: DDR3(L) 8GB
Drives: 1TB HHD, was my old OS location but i moved it to the SSD. I now use this as a storage drive.

In short, checks system file and store for corruption against original values and restores them to original shape over internet.

Alright after running "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" It saids it fixed corrupted components, Hopefully this will fix my freeze issue. Will update my status again in a day or two.
After dism you can run SFC again. It's a good idea to run those two things once in a while, needed or not.

I run scans from a batch file to automate them.
They are---

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow
pause

screenshot_196.jpg

You might want to create your own batch file for them or just use mine.
Run it as administrator.
Remember to Unblock it.

Good luck. :)

Good luck. :)

So i ran the dism.bat file you attached and after Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup, i got:
Code:
Error: 14098
The component store has been corrupted.

Still in the process of sfc /scannow.
