Hello

First of all, I hope I am posting this in the correct section of the forum so I apologize already if it isn't.

So recently I have noticed that there are several of updates available for my BIOS. Now the thing is, I know that isn't necessary to update your BIOS unless you got problems, but I think this might be just a bit different. I have a Intel Core i5 4430 and my current BIOS version doesn't support this CPU yet according to their website. Now I haven't got any performance issues or anything familiar like that, but I was wondering if it might be a good idea to update it just in case. Though I have been running like this since I first got this PC almost two years ago.

My MB is an ASUS B85M-G
Current BIOS version: 0410

Hi,
there is no need to update the BIOS. Your CPU is supported since version 0306 and your current one is 0410. If you don't have any problems you shouldn't update the BIOS.

Good luck, werty

Hi

Thanks for the respond. I have to say that I did not know that it isn't supported since then, but there was an update (0904) which said it supported "New 4th-Generation Intel Core Processors " and so I thought it supported mine then. Seems a bit confusing but now I know at least there is no need for an actual update.
