Solved Programs that "should" run at startup are not starting up.

I have multiple programs that are supposed to run at startup are no longer starting up. Msconfig says they should start up & another program I use shows they should be starting up. They used to run just fine. Something has changed preventing them from running.

Anyone have any ideas? Help!!

Hello Jim,

Do these programs require to "run as administrator" (elevated)?

If you have the Start screen show at startup instead of your desktop, then you might see if this below may be the issue by reducing the startup delay time.

Use System Restore to restore to the date, when they were working, use Option Two:

I run Win 8.1 from the desktop almost exclusively. The programs that aren't running do not need admin privileges to run. I followed the link you supplied and used it, but it didn't change anything. Programs are still not running at startup.

Did you also see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated when they did run properly at startup help?

Not just yet but I keep 7 days of Macrium Reflect image copy backups that run nightly. It is in my bag of rescue ideas.
