Problem with Laptop automatically coming on every-night?
We have had this Laptop Samsung NP355V5C-A06UK for 15 months and it has been switching on at 23:49 every-night for months since we had it repaired at Samsung9 months ago. At first I tried everything I could think of by changing event times and looking at what was waking it up. I found nothing to answer my question?. Then I tried the BIOS to see if that was the problem as usual no success. The other night I switched off the WIFI to see what happens. You guessed it, it didn't come on?
So, what does this mean does someone have access to the laptop?
How did they know my IP and Mac#?
How the hell can I stop them from using it?
Thanks guys for your info...

If you have it networked to your other machines it may just be something like Windows testing if offline files have changed. Or discovering what systems are on the network. Try turning on one of the Desktops "allow network activity to wake" it setting in the network card in Device Manager. See if it wakes up at the same time.

Check the BIOS for a "WAKE on RTC" setting. If enabled the PC will turn on every day when the BIOS Real Time Clock time matches what's set in this BIOS setting. I used to have my desktop PC set to turn on every morning at 7 AM.

Learn something every day.
I'd rep you but I got the "spread around" msg.

I have UEFI Bios where would I find it?
Likely in the power options. It should be in the same place as the Wake on Lan etc settings.

My two desktop PC's have the Power section but my laptop doesn't. It appears my laptop doesn't have the Wake on RTC option. Your may not also.
