Try right clicking on the drive and selecting eject--even though there is no drive connected. Second, reinsert the drive, and try the same thing. Finally, do a restart--or do this step first if you want.

Got it. We were posting at the same time. Did you try the possibly simple fixes I mentioned above. Probably too simple to work.

Try right-clicking that Removable Drive and look at the Properties/Hardware Tab to see if it gives you any additional insight. You could also try Control Panel > Autoplay and set everything back to defaults.

Hello again quickslvr,

As stated previously, that removable media appearance in your computer folder is probably some necessary hardware that was detected during installation (like a card reader, etc) and, if you have read the above article, it could even be some weird "out of the ordinary" hardware like a USB hub on you monitor. Moreover, after reading that article thoroughly, I am in agreement with the author; in that, if you can't find it, don't do anything drastic to try and make it go away, because it is (more than likely) necessary hardware for your configuration (even though you don't know what it is yet). Now, I am basing my assumptions on the fact that you just did a clean install so that eliminates (in my mind) any user errors that could have been introduced over time.

However, I do have one more place for you to look and I apologize if this has already been suggested:

I am terribly getting tension from this problem......
Relax...
