Solved preparing new SSD for cloning?

I downloaded the 64 bit free version of Macrium Reflect to use to clone from my Samsung SSD to an Intel SSD. My question is, do I need to do anything to the new Intel SSD straight from the box, or should it be ready to clone to as is? Thanks!

I am not really in favor of cloning and here's the reasons why:

1. When cloning one disk to another, the destination disk must be equal or larger in capacity. If the destination disk is larger, that will leave an unallocated space on the destination disk.
2. Cloning will copy bit by bit, sector by sector and each disk has its own signature (Disk ID) and might make the 2's to have the same signatures and then when you boot up with both disks connected, one will be put offline because of the conflict in disk ID.

I would suggest:

1. Install Macrium in the source disk and create a backup image to an external Hard Disk
2. Format a USB stick with FAT32 for compatibility then Create a Macrium Rescue disk. Boot up from the rescue disk. (I know someone else suggested to format with NTFS but the rescue disk is only around 260MB)
3. Restore the Image from the external HD to the new SSD.

The new SSD probably came with some instructions for use. What do they say?

When I switched to an SSD in my previous laptop, no third-party software or cloning was required (at least not as I understand the term). The drive came with a "transfer kit" which was really just a special cable. The entire process, including removing the HDD and installing the SSD, took less than 10 minutes.
