Mine is not always this cluttered, but I do tend to use the Desktop for a lot of WIP files & folders. I clean it up every few days, and move files & folders to the relevant folders in My Documents

Nothing special as I do not use 3rd party pimping tools, but I found this background from Danielle Tunstall interesting. How ugliness(who wants to kiss them cheeks?) can be so beautiful. Just proof again that beauty is just a mathematical perception. Oh yeah and I use the desktop toolbar with "show text" & "show title" turned off, then drag Recycle Bin(change to large icon) to the front, so when I turn off desktop icons I still can see if something's in it before running Ccleaner.

I've started messing around with the high contrast mode a bit. I'm finding the windows 8.1 Color & Appearance tool a lot better and easier to use than the one in Win7. It even made WMP look classy(pictured here). The only thing though is how it effects Internet Explorer(Yes my favorite browser) although Chrome looks the same as always.
