Post your Desktop!

So now I have Win 98SE, Win XP, Vista and Win 7 (all 32 bit) and Win 8 (64 bit) all running standalone setups, Win 3.1 in DOS-Box, and Win 95 and Win ME in Virtual-Box. Do you think I have enough OSes yet? Wenda.

You've inspired me. I'm gonna go hunt down all the early Windows builds I can find to run in VMs. Gotta put all this RAM to use somehow.

I disagree with pirating, so I was thinking about buying a technet subscription. Any other info? Really considering it. :)

Don`t know much about TechNet apart from it being a subscription for evaluating Microsoft software.
BTW I don`t pirate either - what you see has valid keys - the Linux and ReactOS don`t need them, being open source , same as the other stuff I use, FreeBDS, Red Hat, Suse, Backtrack. (and yes - DOS :) )

Nor are mine pirated. They're legit OSes purchased over many years of computing.

Doh!! I feel so flippin OLD sometimes - do you know that I`ve just been looking at Joans Windows 8 screenshot and I blew the image up because my eyesight is poor, then seconds later I was furiously spinning my mouse wheel and wondering just why the tiles weren`t scrolling to the left....... Then the penny dropped. :)

Edit:- I`ve been looking at the Technet web-page and what is clear is that the subscription is for evaluation purposes only so you would be unable to use it as a cheap way to obtain microsoft products - certainly using them in a production environment would be a big No-No.
I think the idea is that its a way to get experience of a microsoft product so that you are conversant with packages if you encounter them when working with clients if you are an IT professional.

What?! No Ubuntu??

Yes but not installed. Well, installed but not fitted.
I'll explain.
Because of space limitations, I only have two desktop boxes. They share peripherals, as they don't both run at once. The P4 has four hard drives, three with a separate OS on each one, and a common drive for files etc. To use a particular OS, I simply plug the relevant drive in and boot up. It is currently running XP Home and Vista Ultimate. The third OS drive had Ubuntu, but is clean in preparation for a trial-run with Mint. This is the box I used to beta-test W8 until making the decision to 'Go 8' on my main laptop,
The second box (a Pentium 3) has two drives fitted, one runs Win98SE and the other has MS-DOS 6.22 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 (which I'd actually forgotten was on there). There is another drive for this box, not fitted, which now has the Ubuntu setup from the P4. I select the OS the same way as the P4.
Also, I have Puppy Linux that I can stick on a thumb-drive when needed.
Wenda.
