Possible to use an Apple Keyboard's USB ports?

Hey there,

On my Windows 7 machine I used to be able to use the ports on my Apple Keyboard (I just like the feel of the keyboard) for USB Sticks, a mouse and whatever I needed to plug in. Now, on Windows 8, I can't modify the registry anymore like I'm used to for the past years. I get stuck when trying to change the ownership of a key.

I checked out this video when I was using Windows 7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8kVWy8Qf7A

Does anyone know how to get past that and does it even still work on Windows 8?

Many thanks!

All the Macintosh iMacs I've helped with came with/use Bluetooth wireless keyboards and mice. There's a lot of different functions on those keyboards compared with a Windows/PC-based keyboard which may be a problem. I use a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse with my MacBook Pro and another of the same model with a couple of Windows Notebooks.

Can you elaborate more on getting stuck? Post some screenshots. Are you running regedit as admin? Not just from an admin account but right clicking and selecting run as admin?
