How to Add or Remove Accounts in People App in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
The People app is a Store app that is included by default in Windows 8. It helps to bring all your contacts together in one place. See what’s new with your friends, and join in the conversation by adding your own comments and updates. You can quickly add your email contacts, your social networks, the people you follow on Facebook, Twitter, and more to one central contact list when you use the People app.

This tutorial will show you how to add or remove email and social network accounts from your People app in Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows 8.1, and Windows RT 8.1.

Note   Note
When you remove an account from People, it will only remove that account's contacts and updates from People and doesn't delete any contacts from the original account. You’ll still be able to get to them when you directly sign in to that account online. For example, removing a Facebook (social network) or email account.

As of January 30, 2013, Google no longer supports new EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) connections in some scenarios, so how you add contacts to the People app might change. For more info, see How to sync Google services with Windows.
