How to Require a Password after Display is Off for Specified Time in Windows 8.1

This tutorial will show you how to require a password after the display is off for a specified time and before the PC goes to sleep or hibernate for your account on a Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 tablet or Surface.
This does not apply to desktops and laptops.

OPTION ONE
Set Time to Require Password after Display is Off in PC settings
1. Open PC settings, and click/tap on Accounts on the left side. (see screenshot below)
2. Click/tap on Sign-in options on the left side of Accounts. On the right side under Password policy, select how long after the display(s) is off for to require a password when turning the display(s) back on. (see screenshots below)
3. When finished, you could close PC settings if you like.
OPTION TWO
Set Time to Require Password after Display is Off with a REG File
1. Do step 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 below for how long you want after the display(s) is off for to require a password when turning the display(s) back on.
2. To "Always require a password" after the Display is Off
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

4. To Require Password after Display is Off for "2 minutes"
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

5. To Require Password after Display is Off for "3 minutes"
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

6. To Require Password after Display is Off for "5 minutes"
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

7. To Require Password after Display is Off for "10 minutes"
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

8. To Require Password after Display is Off for "15 minutes"
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 9 below.

9. Save the .reg file to your desktop.
10. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.
11. If prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, OK.
12. When finished, you can delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
