Optional Update KB3000850

Got this optional update (KB3000850) today and no information yet.
It was 723.9 MB and took forever to install.

I will wait for the information to be posted before I update my Laptop.

UPDATE: MS just released the information. Its a Nov 2014 rollup so that is why it was so big.

I am doing my Laptop now. The download goes to 4% then pauses and Windows Modules Installer Worker kicks in high gear and shows lots of Disk activity. After a while it calms down and the download resumes. Running on my Laptop with a SSD it took 10mins to resume the download.Download pauses at 90% and Service Host and System kick in high gear with Disk activity. After another 3 min the install starts. Another 7 min and ready to reboot.

This is one big mother, from download to install and configuring on my system, 25 minutes.
No problems seen.

Holy cow what a huge update! I'm a low capped satellite connection and something this big take a significant chunk of my allowance. Thanks Microsoft!

Download them from the site at somebody else's place! ;)

Tried to install on Win 8.1x64 Desktop and Laptop, both failed, and no error message.

Will be PO'd if I lug my laptop to the library only to have it fail. I know it says optional but I would think an update this size has some important stuff. Wish they would have left out the language stuff and made that part different update(s). I'm sure that would reduce the size quite a bit.

Had any of the previous update patches ended up failing popeye?

I think you do regular maintenance & health check of system, so you'll be okay hopefully :)

All good there. Thanks, as I said, being cranky is all. I'll get over it. :)
