Hi,

I (my wife) has a "Fujitsu Lifebook A Series" laptop. In Windows 7, previous OS you opened the lid then pressed the on button to start.

Since the upgrade, opening the lid causes Windows 8 to start. Where can I find the settings for opening the lid. I've found setting for closing the lid but not opening it!

Any help is appreciated.

Xy.

I'm guessing that has something to do with Windows 8's hybrid boot/sleep mode. On my Acer Aspire 5920 the power button would flash red on shutdown like it was going to go into hibernate or sleep mode and then shut down. It never did that with Windows 7. After I changed the power plan to performance and disabled sleep and hibernate it stopped doing it and shutdown normally. Mine never turned on just by opening the lid though. I don't ever remember seeing an "open lid" option in the power settings either. Wish I could be more help but I went back to Windows 7 on that laptop.
