Open Specific Control Panel Item?

Is there a way to make a shortcut to open or go to a specific item in the CP? I'd like to be able to do this with a few of my most-used, such as Color and Appearance, for changing taskbar and windows borders colors. I have a macro program that will do it, just wondered if there were direct links to the various items in the CP. Thanks.

I ended up pinning the whole CP to the taskbar and discovered when you right-click it gives you a whole menu of recently opened CP items, any of which you can then pin permanently to that menu. I"ve pinned my oft-used items to that menu and it's great, a left and a right click and I'm there. Very cool. Thanks.

Well, dagnabit, I accidentally unpinned one of the CP apps from the CP icon on my taskbar and now it won't show up again in the "recently used" thing when I right click. In fact no CP recently used items are showing up on right click anymore. I have no idea what I did to undo that. Any idea how to make it show those recently used items again? That was very useful.

I don't.
Maybe Brink or someone will be able to help.

EDIT-- Maybe get rid of what you now have & do the process all over again.:geek:

Yeah, I tried that. But no matter what, it won't show the recent used CP apps again the way it had before. Strange. Frustrating.

David Bailey, I don't have those options when I right click on Control Panel items. All I have is "Open" and "Create Shortcut". Is there any way I can enable those options? I am trying to pin the "Sound" Control Panel item to my Start screen.

Hello DRMMR76, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If you like, you could create a Sound shortcut using the tutorial below that you could pin or use where you like in Windows 8.

Hope this helps, :)
