boohbah

Closed by request
Having deleted the partition that i had created for win 8 build 7955 i still have two windows seven 's showing in the boot manager there is no partition showing in my computer but it hasn't moved from the boot ,
is there any way to remove this ,also the 30 GB partition still shows in partition wizard but now says unallocated.

Hello mate, I'm glad that sorted it for you.

You ought to create Extended partition / Logical drive(s) to dual boot from, Windows will install to a Logical as easy as it will a Primary, the big advantage is it won't be able to interfere with the "System" boot files and when ready to remove that install all that needs done is to delete the Logical and all will be back to normal.

Try EASY BCD it allows you to edit the boot menu and add a new Operating System (windows 8) also adjust the time out.

Did you check the hashes on the downloads?

Must be the installation files if 7955 works.

I have dumped build 7989. It got to where it wouldn't do much other than boot. MSE, Win Defender wouldn't update, many programs wouldn't even start. I'll wait till the next leak.

Personally, I will wait for an official beta from MS... I have not had great success with any leaks. IMHO... leaks may be a corporate attempt to mislead the competition (Apple, Android, Google, Linux, etc).
