Occasional crashes lately: Event 41, Kernel-Power; Task 64
i've been having occasional crashes only over the past maybe couple of months with no change in hardware. i'm at a loss at to what to do, and i worry about taking it in to where i purchased it due to the randomness of the crashes - fearing they might not find anything wrong, and a continuous cycle begins...
i'm running windows 8.1 x64 using a ssd, and have 16 gigs of ram. you can view my entire system in my profile if there is anything specific that may be of help.
i have had my system "system failure" set to write an event, automatically restart and create a small memory dump. unfortunately, no memory dump has ever been generated. is this because i haven't actually had a BSOD? the computer simply crashes/restarts, and will see another entry in the event log stating it was another event 41: kernel-power task category (64) critical event. i honestly haven't been able to figure any logic to the crashes/restarts.
so i don't have a dump to upload.
i did follow the instructions here:
http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html
i downloaded the DM Log collector Tool, launched it from my desktop (as admin), and after a while it does say a zipped folder will be located on my desktop... but nothing is actually generated by the tool either.
any assistance would be much appreciated as to how i can first of all provide some helpful data for you to view. i really don't know what i am doing wrong with the DM Log collector Tool
thank you very much.
