Good afternoon, I have an HP Pavilion dv5-2112br that the HP website only has drivers for windows 7, and when trying to install some gave mismatch error, could someone help me with the drivers for windows 8?
HP obviously don't support Win8 on your machine, hence no drivers, you can check on the HP website by entering your model number. In that case you will have to identify the components from the published specs and search the manufacturers for Win8 drivers.
I'd expect the Win7 drivers to be adequate for most peripherals. If the installers can be persuaded to run under Win8.
Try the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter. (That's a Windows 8 utility. See your Help listings in Windows 8. I don't know the name under Brazilian Portuguese, if that's the language you're using.)
Getting drivers directly from the peripheral manufacturer is a good idea, but it's not always possible. Example: the onboard sound in the dv5-2112br is from IDT, and I believe that they do not make generic drivers available.
