No "remove old windows installations" option in Disk Cleanup.

What's a quick and easy way to remove windows.old since Disk Cleanup seems to be missing the option to do so in Windows 8 Consumer Preview.

I gave myself permissions via CMD which failed(Every file access denied, even in an admin CMD), so I tried one last time to run a Disk Cleanup and when it finished I finally saw the option to remove it........ :shock: It was like the 5th time I've ran it and it seemingly randomly starts to work.

It's best to give yourself permission to access the entire drive before you install the new OP system. That way you will have permissions to do what ever you want with the contents of the drive from inside the new Op system. Of course hind site is always 20/20.

The disk clean up problem sounds like a bug to me, nice find.

chev, the problem has came all the way from the good old vista all the way until the windows 8.

I found it on my installation. I went to "C" drive disk cleanup then clicked on clean up system files. This gave me the option to tick "old windows installations".
