NFS Underground 1 not launching

Hi, everyone.
Just installed NFS: Underground 1 and - somewhat not surprisingly - it won't launch. Like at all.
Tried various compatibility settings, still no luck. The only thing that comes to my mind is to try cracking the game, but I'll need to look for a proper file to do that.
Hope someone reads this and possibly suggests a solution. Would be a shame if I couldn't play this awesome game.

have you read proper instructions before installing the game in your system, there must be some file corrupted or missing that's why the game is not loading.
