New BIOS => EFI

Takes my computer longer to POST than it does to load Windows with EFI. Probably about 8 seconds from hitting start to getting to the windows loading screen, which is maybe 5 seconds from there to log in.

is that for reals? ~ 15 seconds to boot??? that is amazing, i have a great machine but 40-50 seconds to full load is stupid rediculous

Well the kicker is that Windows is booting of a speedy little SSD, thus the quick boot up time. My point was that the BIOS takes longer to POST to get into the Windows boot than the Windows boot takes, which doesn't make any sense. POSTing should be pretty quick, not take that long.

This is not unusual. It depepends on the amount of components the BIOS has to check and of course on the BIOS. I have one HP desktop with the same problem - the BIOS phase takes longet than the boot from an SSD.

The USB didn't install properly I believe. I've had that same message before and reinstalled the installation files to the USB and it worked properly. It will usually happen only when I remove the eicfg file.
