Hi! First of all, I'm sorry if my English is bad. My laptop is running on Windows 8.1 Single Language. I just bought this about a month ago and I'm having this weird problem.

Cases that my network adapter connects to my computer:
1.) After restart
2.) When the network adapter successfully starts and then shut the computer down then start it again

Cases that my network adapter does not connect to my computer:
1.) Turning the computer on after a few hours from the last shutdown

I have done the following things:
1.) Update the driver
2.) Not allowing the computer to turn off the network adapter
3.) Uninstall and reinstall network adapter
4.) Release and renew IPv4 address
5.) Disable Proset services
6.) Disable Bluetooth driver and services
7.) Set WLAN AutoConfig to automatically start

Is this a hardware related problem or a driver problem? Do you know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Not enough information regarding which model of wireless adapter you have, what mfg & model of router/gateway. Download Speccy from piriform.com and post the URL it gives you after you run the tool.

Sorry about that. The network adapter is Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I only use mhotspot to create a wifi using the other computer.
Here's some of the information I got when I ran the tool:

Lol, looks like Speccy cut and paste. I have the 7260 and it is working great so I don't think it is an adapter problem. Most likely configuration or drivers.

What version of windows are you using popeye? Are you using windows 8.1 Single language? I don't know but I guess the OS that comes with my laptop has a problem. It only loads the network adapter on restart and not on start after shutdown(unless if it just shut down and the network adapter was on before shutting it down). I think I should try installing another OS or version of windows OS.

Same here Popeye. It worked fine with Xubuntu also. Same as the one in my wife's Toshiba.

lambdackt the driver I have on mine is the 3/23/15 for my Dual Band 7260 AC. Which I downloaded from Intel.com. That is the only driver I self-installed. Left everything else that was updated through Microsoft Updates.

I just re-installed Windows 8.1 back on my laptop this week. Because for some reason, Ubuntu screwed up something with Cups, so I had to go back to using Windows 8, until they figure out the problem.

Thanks http://www.eightforums.com/member.php?u=37131broe23! I'll try installing that version and I hope that will fix my problem.

Nothing worked. I tried your suggestion broe23 but it did not work. I updated the ATK, Chipset and wifi driver but it did not work. I installed ubuntu but it did not work(installed linux driver for my network adapter as well). I installed another version of Windows but still it did not work. Maybe this is a hardware problem right? It's very frustrating as I have to start and then restart windows just so that I can connect to wifi. Maybe in the future I'll just learn to live with this problem. Thanks for the help though.

It may be. Or could be disabled in the bios or Fn key. That card retails for around $30.

Yea, really starting to wonder if the card is simply a lemon. I got mine for a bit less than $30 on a well known auction site.
Hopefully it is not something in the power circuit going to the card causing it to drop out.

I got both of mine at CDW. I still have the Realtek cards. As for the OP. Go out and get the Netgear a6200 or 6210. Both come with a USB extension cable.

My son uses his where his Mac Book gets limited range on his campus.
