Solved Need help with graphics accelerator

Hi.

Recently I purchased a Dell Inspiron 3847 Desktop.

3.10 gigahertz Intel Pentium G3240
Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller

After installing all the programs I used on my old Windows XP PC I learned that an image viewing program, PMView, is not properly working on my new system.

I contacted the man who created PMView who told me I most likely need to adjust/turn-off graphics acceleration.

When looking at the properties for my machine's graphics I learned the graphics accelerator installed on my machine can not be adjusted or turned off. http://i.imgur.com/i7HDsvD.png

I contacted the PMView creator who suggested I try a OEM graphics driver that is compatible with Windows 8.1.

Admittedly I am not technician, though I am fairly good at following directions. I am hoping a person with tech knowledge can help me find a graphics driver that can be adjusted or disabled.

Because your graphics are integrated, it would be nearly impossible to find a driver for it. It has no dedicated memory, which could be one of the problems with it, and the actual acceleration is BUILT IN, so it cannot be changed.

The PMView website claims it is compatible with Windows 8. Be sure you have the latest version as older versions may have issues.
If the computer came with Windows 8 installed we can reasonably assume it has compatible drivers.

Altering acceleration settings (a global setting) seems a poor way to resolve an application problem.

Thanks, ItsSmooth. What you say makes sense. Looking around I learned Dell placed the least popular card in the machine I purchased. Though the graphics are a vast improvement over my old custom machine. Like night and day.

LMiller, yes I installed the latest version of PMView, I updated the drivers that Dell Diagnostics said my computer required, still no luck. I haven't a clue why my machine and PMView aren't friendly. I've discovered an alternative to PMView, so this is no longer an issue.
