So i was playing halo 2 pc when i got a voice message. Since i always use my trusty mic headset i click play on the message and it said no playback device detected and i tried fixing it with ingame options but it didn't work! and my browser doesn't either. i tried to record my voice but mic wasnt detected?! and my screen recorder catches it perfectly fine and i can hear my self in the video. Whats happening?!. I tried everything from changing default mic option and other things but it wont work and this happened when i first got this pc up here but i tried this time and it might be another issue. :(

No "My System Specs" so we can only guess or offer general suggestions.

The first thing is the Sound Recording Device. Many programs rely on the "Stereo Mix" as the recording device, rather than a specific device. With Stereo Mix set as the default recording device any device that is used, such as a mic, can be heard by other programs. With the Windows Recorder it can use just the mic input.

Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally the Sound Panel, Recording Section. If Stereo Mix is shown, make it the recording device. If not shown, RIGHT click in a blank area in that panel and then click to show disabled devices and disconnected devices. You should now see Stereo Mix and you can enable it and make it the default recording device.

This solves many of the recording problems.

You need to check the programs and see what they are looking for. Most programs have a setup or option.
