.mov video files, need free video editor to join and edit

I have about 6 .mov files taken of a hiking trip on a Ion Sport Cam camera. I've been trying Free Video Editor by dvdvideosoft.com. I have version 1.4.24. And there is supposed to be a new version available, but although the file on their site says free video Editor, its actually their Free Audio Ed.tor. Same file under their free Audio Editor. I have very little control over the video I'm editing nor can I join two of them together.

So, I'm looking for a replacement. I want to be able to join two or more .mov files, output in mp4 or mp3. Edit segments out, and edit audio, or export without audio.

I did do a search on here, but the programs mentioned were 2 years ago.

Win 8.1 notebook in my system specs below my posts. 64-bit OS.

Hey JimJoe, for very simple editing and joining I use Free Video Cutter Joiner v10.4 on my win 8.1 pro 64bit. It's very easy,small and quick-not sure about .mov files though but it will convert. It is also truly free. Think I got it off of FileHippo or MajorGeeks. Hope this helps. Checked and it does support .mov files.
