More Second Screen Issues (Second Screen Default Settings)

I have noticed that i am not the only one with second screen issues, but i AM the only one with this issue as far as i can read. My computer used to have "Extend" as the default screen selection... my mom messed some stuff up... buttons were pressed randomly... anyway now the default is "pc screen only" AND IT MESSES EVERYTHING UP! all the proportions are wrong and i cant open some games (gmod) because of it. I know there is a way to reset the default screen display back to "Extend" BUT I DONT KNOW HOW!!! [yes i can click f4 to temporarily change it, but it always switches back when i open things or switch user or watever]
Please help!

Hi kari, I am aware of this tutorial and I am aware of how to temporarily switch screen display, I am inquiring on how to SET the AUTODISPLAY to EXTEND. It was originally set to extend in the past, but now it autoswitches to PC screen only
I need to set the autodisplay to extend because in PC screen only mode some apps/games and stuff won't open

Laptop or desktop? On my desktop PC it remembers what was last set, even if I reboot or log off. I run three monitors on my Desktop PC and have it set to extend. It stays that way until I change it to something else. I have shortcuts for PC Only and Extend in my taskbar. I switch to PC only when I game and then back to extend for day to day stuff.

My guess is it doesn't detect the second monitor and auto switches back. That will also cause programs that would have opened on the second screen to now open on the main screen. I'd double check your cables to make sure everything is plugged in tight and firm.

It doesn't go to a second screen
I'm only using my laptop
And the second screen options ruin the layout and mess stuff up

What I'm saying is, if the external monitor isn't detected your laptop may be switching back to PC Only by default. Windows Logo Key plus the P key is the way I switch modes on my laptop. Are you trying to get extend or second screen only?
