Missing notifications and sync from Mail app

Hi all! I'm having an issue concerning the default Mail app from Win 8.1. I have set up two mail accounts: my default Microsoft account and an extra Office 365 account. Notifications are turned on for all mail and mails are downloaded as they arrive. But I'm not getting notifications for the default account. Might I add that synchronisation is not automatic and I need to open the app to get the new mail. The second account works okay, though. Can anyone help me? Thanks! :)

Hello TheFireRed, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The account not syncing could be the issue. It can't notify you if it's not checking for new mail. If you check for new mail while in the Mail app, then it won't notify you since you are already viewing it.

Double check using the tutorial below to make sure that the account is set to As items arrive to see if that may help.

Hope this helps for now, :)

The lines translate into basically what the steps from your link stated. The only option I have changed for now is Download email from: Any time, so I'll try to send some test messages and check if they show up. I'll let you know. Thanks!

EDIT: I got an email, my phone notified it instantly and the computer did it too after 20 minutes. How strange, isn't it? My second account showed new emails as soon as they arrived.
