Hello:

Recently I was trying to get the graphics card working with the monitor on my new computer with Windows 8.1. After uninstalling and reinstalling graphics drivers a few times, I lost the apps tiles not only in the start page but also in the main All Apps page. So I cannot simply find the apps from there and put them back in the start page.

Most importantly I am missing many windows system apps tiles like Control Panel. I have to now find Control Panel other ways. Can someone please help.

I am also missing the Apps option in the search box from Charms. Now the only available options are Everywhere, Settings and Files. No Apps. Actually Charm Search cannot find Control Panel.

I have also tried
sfc /scannow
It found no problem and nothing to fix, but no improvement either.

I will be happy if I can just get all the default windows system apps tiles back in the All Apps page. I can deal with the rest.

Thank you.

Hey, welcome to the EightForums.
Try this:
Windows & R (Run window)
WSReset.exe
Enter.

What this should do is open your Windows Store app, purge its cache files, and reset the store to its default configuration.
From there, you should be able to re-download/install your apps, and the tiles should return to their locations.
