Microsoft Windows 8 Office 2013 carrots to get SMBs off XP

This may be a smart move for Microsoft. With XP loosing support in a year it will be time for these businesses to look at upgrading, and at the present it looks as if win 7 is the way to go.

Thanks Shawn for the info. . .:D

Actually, if those enterprises that are still on xp, chances are those are xp era machines that can't handle Aero correctly. If given the option, I'd take 8 over 7 because it has been found to run better than xp on an xp machine. Also, you don't use the Aero Basic theme. It sucks hard. It's a bland babyish blue, choppy, and can't ever be changed. It's basically like a lighter blue xp theme with a vista start menu quite honestly.

I'll take the more efficient and cleaner looking OS with more personalization....

I had a lot of problems trying to get 8 to work on my personal XP laptops.

If the right drivers exist, I'm sure it's a breeze and you get better performance. However if the drivers don't exist or are flaky (or if you need a BIOS update), it's not fun and I still get occasional BSODs that I suspect are driver issues.

Having said that, my work laptop (currently running XP!) is actually a lot more recent and I'm sure would run 8 with no problems.

An enterprise is like a small business, it just has more people. :)

I always look at small businesses as more of a cottage type industry. . .you know like; plumbers, car repair shops, carpenters (independent), etc.. The guys that use Quick Books. . .:D
